Fire Station

Our neighborhood playgroup went to the Fire Station on July 9th. It was a really fun time! And we had a great turnout-- about 25 kids, plus parents. The kids got to take a tour of the station, seeing where the firefighters sleep and eat, and they got to play on the fire truck and ambulance. We learned that their truck is truly a fire truck because it has the ladder on top. Otherwise, it would be an fire engine. One of the fire fighters got dressed up in all his gear so that the kids could see what they looked like. They taught us about having fire drills and to "Stop, Drop & Roll" if our clothes are on fire. Each of the kids also got a turn "driving" the truck! Everyone also got a certificate for a free meal at Del Taco. Sweet!Looking at all the tools firefighters use

Jacob driving the fire truck--Hey, watch where you're going!

Micah driving the truck-- can you even see over the steering wheel?

How fun is that!? That is something the girls would love. A fireman came to the library once during story time, and brought gear and little plastic fire hatsand sticker badges. They thought that was just the coolest! I'm sure your boys ate it up.

Looks like the boys had a lot of fun. Those firetrucks look cool to me but I can only imagine and try to remember how big and cool they looked at a child's height.
